Sega's history was filled with a huge amount of failures, but also a respectable amount of successes. Sega entered the
Japanese video game market with the Sega SG-1000. Unfortunately, it was only a tiny success, but it did help Sega get into
the market. Sega's next primary system, the Sega Master System, was only popular in Europe and Brazil. However, Sega's
best days were during the early-90's, when the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive was king of the industry and Sega and Nintendo competed
fiercely for the majority of the market. In 1994, Nintendo finally came out on top and Sega went downhill due to the failure
of the Sega Saturn, and the Sega CD and 32X, (Genesis/Mega Drive add-ons). Those two add-ons ruined Sega's reputation
in the industry, and Sega's market share dropped dramatically in the late 90's. Sega almost made a huge comeback with the
Dreamcast, but ultimately failed in the long run due to the launch of the Sony Playstation 2, which arguably killed the Dreamcast
and finally convinced Sega to exit the industry, and like Atari, focus entirely on making games. Today, Sega is remembered
for their funny anti-Nintendo advertising, and their still-popular Sonic the Hedgehog series.
